I thought voice recognition was pretty mature I have had it for years on phones in cars etc. Its concerning that its such an issue for the iphone is it related to the apple OS?

We will all miss Steve Job. Jobs gave the world the Apple II, The Mac, the iPod, the iPhone, the iPad and Pixar, altering industries and lifestyles in the process. Thank you Steve Jobs for all those innovative products which changed our lives.

Android already had this feature years ago. You could tell it to set an alarm, make a note, and schedule a meeting in the calendar, all by voice through one prompt. While the Android iteration may not be as smooth as Siri (perhaps) but still it worked well. Not sure why apple thinks its an exclusive app.

I think the only thing Apple will be able to do for Siri is to keep working on it. Accents have always been an issue for voice recognition.

We will all miss Steve Jobs. It's sad news. Apple will have a big challenge ahead of them if they are to keep ahead of its competitors. I'm not sure how the iPhone 4S is going to serve that purpose. One if the main features Siri can respond to voice commands in British, US and Aussie accents and some other languages. But according what I hear it fails to recognize the English accents spoken by african, Chinese or most of the Asian population. Right now Asia is where the money is when it comes to new purchases. Specially things like a new iPhone to replace the old. I'm curious to know what apple could to do about this?

Innovative and groundbreaking...from the IPhone to the IPad, Apple just won't be the same without you.
