Hi Folks,

According to a new Public survey just released by the Economist,Free-market Capitalism is no longer in fashion worldwide.

Check this out

http://www.economist.com/blogs/dailychart/2011/04/public_opinion_capitalism&fsrc=nwl

But the more important question to ask is-If this is because of the rise of Crony Capitalism in the Western world especially in America???

A Kind of Heads you Lose,Tails You Lose approach???

Worth thinking about for sure.

There is no disputing the fact that Strong competition triggers the best results as far as Growth and Innovation are concerned. But such an approach never favors the incumbent/entrenched elite who have become way too fat and lazy(for want of better words).

When so called "Legends" like Warren Buffet get exposed for what they really are

http://www.benzinga.com/life/politics/11/04/983411/michael-steinhardt-takes-on-warren-buffett-dismisses-his-success

In my opinion If Warren Buffet really was a Legend he would have let AIG ,Goldman and GE fail in 2008(Inspite of all his personal money tied up in those companies). His behavior since 2008 has clearly exposed the fact that He is nothing but a Crony-Capitalist .

It really shows Capitalism(as is currently practiced in America) has a massive-massive credibility crisis.

Regards

Ashish.

Free Market Capitalism Out of Fashion?

Sixty years after its publication, Ayn Rand's ultimate homage to capitalism is finally being made into a film. Atlas Shrugged will be released in theatres on April 15th. The YouTube link to the trailer has already generated more than a million hits - and that's with hardly any publicity or advertising. You can view it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6W07bFa4TzM

I think it's small but significant evidence that people want to explore life within the free market. With all its flaws, capitalism is still the best way to build and enjoy wealth.

Hard to think of Al Capone as a model figure. But he actually defined capitalism pretty well when he said, "This American system of ours, call it Americanism, call it capitalism, call it what you will, gives each and every one of us a great opportunity if we only seize it with both hands and make the most of it."
