Boy, there are glaciers melting faster than James Murdoch's reflexes! I say put Wendi in charge!
HA, thanks for sharing the pie video. I love it. a good pie in the face is always worth watching.
Just in case anyone hasn't seen it yet, here's a short video of the pie incident.
isn't it delightful that it's from the WSJ online, which credits Fox Business Network; both of which NewsCorp owns...
ah yes, the potential for a media-government conspiracy, I like it!

I'd liken it more to Iran-contra. A lot of denials. How could you expect me to know evrything going on when I have 60,000 global employees? He is one step away from playing the I'm an old man who can't remember card. They'll be a couple fall guys-- mr Scotland yard and the red head--and that'll be it.

If the investigation moves beyond Murdoch to include all Feet Street Media -- Pies will be thrown and heads will roll for a long time to come.

I'm dating myself, but I think the prototype for this investigation will prove to be more Watergate than BP.
With all the denials and buck passing, it will be VERY interesting to see if (or when) a smoking gun turns up that really links the wrongdoing to the very highest levels of either the News Corp organization, the government--or both.

You are absolutely right. Ever try to get a straight answer from a room full of six-year-olds? These forgetful CEOs make me feel the same way.

Yes, the pie was an interesting addition today.
However, I think this demonstrates the same thing it did at BP, Goldman, etc. -- that you need some honest sounding answers and someone needs to take responsibility. If you say things like "nothing happened" or "I has no idea what happened" and you are the CEO, you are in trouble. People want someone to be held accountable for this.
But you gotta hand it to the Brits. They do government drama on a whole other level.
Sure we have errant tweets and pay for play activities in Washington, DC. But when's the last time you saw anyone hit with a makeshift pie in the face?
