It seems to me it is time to change this privilege. Let's level the playing field a little and maybe these clowns will start to act a little more responsibly- although I am not sure they are capable.

Yes. I agree. It is good to know that these issues are getting exposure. Ordinary people don't seem to have much say in these things but it is good to know that there are ways to make their voices heard. The power of ordinary people should never be underestimated. The present African uprising is a good example. Let's hope the congress and the law makers hear their voices.

Are you kidding me? I can't even say "vote em out" because the one we vote in will be just as bad.

This is a travesty. I don't know why I made the logical presumption that a practice like this would be prohibited. I have to stop putting Congress and rational actions in the same sentence.

This truly is unfair. It is shocking to realize how big an advantage they really have. And there is no one to prevent them from selling the information to a chosen few. This has already happend as you mentioned. And what happened to that bill also tells the story of the continuous strategic advantage enjoyed by them. Thank you Scott for bringing this situation out into the public eye again. This is the type of news that the media should be reporting on that would be beneficial to many not what some celebrity did.

It would seem that congress and staffers should be under the same rules as Wall Street and large corporations with respect to insider trading. What they are doing seems less company specific than economy specfic. However, it is the same idea - Congress both has inside information and can effect the outcome of the economy in their favor.
