We can diss Rupert all we want but the minute he starts putting images of the latest It Girl on the front page of his papers, preferably in a compromising position, we'll all foprgive him and buy multiple copies.

Yes I guess you are right. When it comes to television I doubt they'd stop watching the channels owned by Murdock. But his news publications might take a hit. I'm not sure which way it will go. It might increase the circulation because of the curiosity factor I mentioned earlier. Or it might decrease circulation because of the moral eliment. Either way I don't think it would be a total loss for him.

@Phoenix,

 I agree with you that news spreads fast...but the point I am trying to make is it wont affect his business. People will not stop watching Television or newspaper  just because its owned by Murdoch.

Don't be too sure that Asia wouldn't know much about Murdoch. News travels fast specially through the Internet. Thanks to the pie incident it has become more interesting. People are drawn to the unusual and the more outrageous it is the more people would be curious to know more about it. So even people who wouldn't have otherwise given it much thought might be paying attention now.

@tokyogai, I agree with you...she definitely looks like a woman of action and looks like she is not scared. I hope Wendi Deng Murdoch will become  Murdoch II.

Murdoch is running out of continents to take over, but he still has Asia.

Marvin,

 I agree with you.  I dont think his ASIA business will get affected. Satellite Television Asia Region (STAR)is an Asian TV service owned by Rupert Mudroch and people in ASIA hardly care about Mudroch, most of the people don't know about Mudroch.

One Murdoch more likely than Wendi..

Kudos to Wendi for her quick thinking and take-charge reaction to the pie man. But with 40% of News Corp stock, and a docile Board, the one Murdoch more likely to be the 2012 CEO is still Rupert himself.

My thoughts exactly.

Many of my managers at previous jobs would've brought all their sycophants together to take a vote on whether or not to engage in the Pie Termination  initiative.

At least she acted and was not afraid. That is better than most managers these days.

I also feel Rupert Murdock's wife could be the right choice. She looks like a woman of action and she does have at least some of the necesary background to pull this off. She also seems to have a some what clear slate when compared to the others.
