I'm skeptical Scott. Cisco has toyed with us before. I don't like being led on...

I agree, its a bit too early to tell, the main issue that needs to be addressed is a return to solid engineering of new products. Though Cisco is still still number 1 in the routing and switching market, Alcatel-Lucent is closing in on them, it was earlier this year when ALU passed Juniper to become to number 2 company in the routing and switching market, making them a serious threat to Cisco's core buisness.

I am not so confident that this is a start of  the true turnaround. For Cisco employees I met recently, the morale was low, and good employees are jumping boats. Company's fundamental issues have not been addressed yet. I prefer to stay put at this time

I think it is a trend

Looking around at the technology infrastructure companies, they have all been starting to buy and to upgrade their systems. The push on 4G mobile requires a lot of other areas to be beefed up. I think the rise in sales seen by Cisco is just a part of this new push. Unless all confidnce is lost, this trend should continue for a while. It takes years for the equipment buys to turn into new network capabilities.

Good to see Cisco shares bouncing up. Needs to be seen if this is temporary bounce back or sustained trend.
