Yes I agree. I used to really like yahoo both as a browser and content provider. But now I mostly use google. I also liked yahoo for online chat and other services but now Facebook and skype have taken that place. It's sad that yahoo could not keep up with the competition. But it still has potential I just hope they try to do something about gaining an edge over it's competitors before it's too late.

@Scott, I totally agree with you that Yahoo's Board Should Be Cleaned and the new board should approach Microsoft. Right now its very tough for yahoo to fight with giants like Google alone.

ProfR,

I really think that Yahoo is positioned to make the most out of Hulu, they have no name in the streaming video space and would not have to worry about making Hulu work with their current platform. They would just have to slap a Yahoo next to the Hulu logo and off they go.

The yahoo board may be full of idiots, but I have to tell you -- I don't have much respect for a CEO who drops the f-bomb in a public forum. She wasn't sitting in a bar with her close friends when she said it. And like politicians who get caught with their pants down, it's not what was said but the lack of impulse control it betrays.

I like the idea of Yahoo and Hulu.

Yahoo also has a deal with AT&T to be the ISP for their comsumer internet services. I think they also should look at extending this to the AT&T wireless business.

Scott,

I think you are right on with your call to see Yahoo move in the content direction, and I could not agree more. I wrote a blog on Technorati a few weeks back about the current auction for Hulu; and was pointing out that Yahoo is in the best position to leverage the content and user base they would get from the deal.

I think by picking up Hulu (assuming they do) and then refining some of the content they already have they would make themselves a big player in that market. Yahoo also has the cash to spend on licensing agreements with movie studios; assuming they want to try and take a slice out of Netflix Pie.

This is a company in the position to turn around and really push off in a new direction with a good amount of steam behind them. If they will be able to do it is another question all together.
