Don't think about it today. Unless you want to feel depressed.

That's understandable to feel that way Phil. I guess it all depends on what day you think about it. Things seem good one day, terrible the next...

cat tail,

I would like to be optimistic with you but I have a tentative approach to the word 'stimulus' nowadays. It seems to be like a short-ended firecracker: it makes some noise for a little while then disappears even faster.

It seems a lofty task to monitor something like that....I have a feeling such a move would be met with more than a bit of resistance.

I understand your skepticism, Dex. I feel some trepidation, too. But I also feel a twinge, just a twinge, of hope. Maybe this will make a difference.

The job numbers are not mine, but the federal government's via the recovery.gov site. I believe, at least on the transportation side, that some of the jobs created by federal stimulus funds were jobs that would have been funded by states or municipalities. It was a shell game in some cases that helped the states pay for highway projects they should have been paying for in the first place.

Maybe I'm just jaded. But I don't think this new plan (whatever it is) is the answer. And I have to admit--I think your analysis of the last stimulus is optimistic.

I believe you. I also have a bridge for sale ( the Tappan Zee) for a really, really good price...

John, employed youths are the strengths of a nation. Since the number of unemployed peoples is increasing day by day, it can affect the economy very badly. In such a ground reality president and congress has to compromise for creating more employment opportunities for the younger generation.
