It's just sad that it is so completely broken that it is hard to figure out where to start!

While I have serious doubt this will have any effect on anything, I always admire when someone stands up for their beliefs. As long it is done in a respectable manner which it seems to be for the most part.

The more I read about The Wall Street System and the grassroots pain of the protesters, the more I come to understand the point of the protests. One thing I think we can all agree with is that some kind of fundamental change is imperative.

One of the interesting messages from the protests is that we're all in this together. And we are. I just read this:

From 2005 to 2009, white households lost nearly $22,000 in net worth, more than black and Hispanic households. In percentage terms, however, minorities have taken the harshest blow.

A study by the Pew Research Center looked at the change in the inflation-adjusted median net worth of U.S. households - that is, assets such as homes, retirement accounts and savings minus liabilities such as mortgages, auto loans and credit card debts. Among its findings:

-Median wealth among Hispanic households amounted to $6,325 in 2009, down 66 percent from 2005.

-For Asian households, median wealth fell 54 percent to $78,066.

-For blacks, wealth declined 53 percent to $5,677.

-For whites, it dropped 16 percent to $113,149.

I agree. Actually I felt the greatest sense of sadness at the "happiest" photo in the set. It shows a young couple and their dog, and for some reason it just made me feel very sad to see such hope against a backdrop of such angst and frustration.

The more I look at the images in this post, the more my heart breaks for the monstrous system we have created. It is sucking the life out of our country and draining the average people of incentives to succeed.

Lack of clear objective doesn't mean there is no problem.  May be it will take some time for the protestors to identify their objectives.

@yelanand

Until the protestors figure out their objective, it would be premature to agree with them.

I do feel sympathy for people in difficult situations.  Right now, my sympathy is more for the people who were trying to drive across the Brooklyn Bridge over the weekend when it was blocked by people who don't yet agree on what we should do differently.

Yes, that seems to be the trend, Police crack down and crack some skulls and the movment under attack sky rockets in popularity.

Although I think the protests are somewhat misguided, I heard one protesters chanting “I work 40 hours a week so I can struggle”.  That kind of hit home.
