He struck me as just as pompous and arrogant in person as he appears on TV. The only thing that surprised me was his height--he's pretty tall...all the better to look down on the rest of us.

HAHA, Noreen, Thats a strong statment. :-)

Since you have met the mighty Bill, maybe you can answer this question. Is what we see on TV his real personality or is it all just an act to drive his ratings?

I have involuntarily met O'Reilly. And I was not impressed. I never met Barney Frank, but I was never taken with his antics or rhetoric.

If I were starving -- say I hadn't eaten in a month and the end of the world was REALLY coming -- but I could have an amazing 5-star dinner with either Bill O'Reilly or Barney Frank, I would simply chose to starve. At least I'd die in peace instead of being blabbered to death.

Scott,

Do you think if Fannie Mae was more conservative with their lending practices they would not be an issue? or do you think the whole program is misplaced?

I also enjoyed Barney's media appearances, but there was always one thing that bothered me about his role in financial services: He never admitted what a debacle Fannie Mae was and how misguided it was for the government to think it could control the housing market and put people in houses they couldn't afford. No better example of the law of unintended consequences.

I am sure there are more than a few that watch for that very reason. I have a co-worker that thinks he is the greatest thing since sliced bread.... I just dont get it.

That's his edge. You'd be surprised how many people watch just to see what he'll say next to tick them off OR feel validated that he's a jerk.

I have tried to watch O'Reilly a few times, there is just something about him that bothers me to no end.
