I am not really a believer in Astrology at all, but after watching the markets for a number of years, I would say this approach is at least as good as most of the other ones I have seen.
Well, I clicked to find my investment temperament. As a Virgo, the forecast notes, I can "squeeze a dollar out of a dime and can smell a good sale a mile away." OK, reasonably true. But then it continues: "Your biggest issue is loaning money to others to help them out, for often times you are taken advantage of." I may be the Virgo exception, but I rarely loan money -- and when I do, I always get it back.
So in my case, at least, the forecast is about 50/50.

I never thought I'd be tempted to turn to astrology for help with my investments, but after the past year...heck, can it really be any worse than the other resources we use?

I don't think there's any answers in the stars. There aren't even any answers in the charts, reports and analysis we reference these days.
I don't think it's fair to rule out astrology, although I think those who can really "read" the stars and planets are scarce and that many so called astrologers are charlatains.

I'd be hesitant to use astrology where my money is concerned, although I think it's interesting to look at just for comparison purposes.
Drivewaygirl,
It sounds to me like you made the point there. If the 'regular folks' don't know who to trust, they won't trust anyone at all.

Maybe our world economy leaders should consult the stars. Any advice they get can't be much worse than what they are actually doing.

Did anyone try to read the astrological reasoning for the recent economic crises by Mark and Barbara Goldsmith? Anyone understand it more than I did?

While I have seen professional astrologers prepare impressive in-depth charts based on birth information accurate down to the second - the same cannot be said for the newspaper and magazine charlatans.
Go to any periodical astrology column, take the profiles and predictions and mix them up. Put virgo with gemini - pisces with taurus. Show them to any random group and you will have people agreeing to the accuracy of astro-profiles that actually have nothing to do with their birthsign.
One of my college professors started the first class with two questions -
Raise your hand if you know your astrological sign.
Raise your hand if you know your blood type.
After it was evident that many more of us knew our astrology, he reminded us that knowing your blood type would clearly proivde more practical information for any man of science. Maybe it's just not as interesting to talk about?

That's funny. I guess it comes down to the fact that blood type is objective and astrology is subjective -- it gives us the wiggle room to bend and shape reality and the future the way we want to believe. You can't do that with something as clear and immutable as your blood type.

Funny you should mention blood type, the Japanese (and some other eastern countries too, if I'm not mistaken) believe that blood type can be an indicator of personality, compatibility with others, and numerous other things, much like zodiac symbols.

I don't think astrology can do anything with the stock market. It's all like some people are trying to commercialize some beliefs for their own sake. The best mantra is to be careful while playing with money.
Blood type also effects diet. There have been several influential books written about how people with different blood types have different dietary needs.

Blood type also affects your likelihood to get a mosquito bite. Those with type O blood were twice as attractive to mosquitoes than those with a different blood type. A different study found that mosquitoes prefer beer drinkers to water drinkers, but given the economy, I'm willing to risk the bites in order to continue to enjoy a beer.
driven,
LOL! Clearly we need to publish a new report, "Everything You Want to Know About Blood Type."
For the record, I'm A+ ... just like ALL my grades in college.

LOL! My blood type is A, but my average grade was not!
Apparently the whole global economic collapse is mostly Pluto's fault. Astrologer Susan Miller, speaking at a recent conference in NYC, said Pluto it has been creating havoc on the global economy since 2008 when it moved into Capricorn.
She also noted something about a tricky cardinal cross, where four planets are in a cross position, which apparently signifies gridlock and conflict. But hey...There are no more cardinal crosses in 2012 so a slow recovery could be on the cards. Or in the stars as the case may be.,.

Pluto is just being spiteful. Tell a space rock it's not a planet anymore and it crashes the global economy. Very petty.

That's very funny, Joey!

I feel Astrology is more of belief. If you get something good out of your belief, nothing wrong in that.

That's surely true, Yalanand, though there may be certain advantages that accrue to believing in something that isn't total horse-exhaust.

Astrology doesn't seem like a belief system that clashes with many others.
