Move to Brazil
Noreen Seebacher   1/4/2012 3:48:55 PM
NO RATINGS
The world may be on shaky ground, but Brazil is steady as can be. Brazil has overtaken the UK as the world's sixth largest economy, according to The Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR) in London, which just released the its latest World Economic League Table.

All that growth is creating a significant labor shortage: 57% of employers in Brazil are unable to find the skilled workers they need to operate their businesses. Claudio Lampert, chief legal officer of Brazilian logistics firm Grupo LLX, is one these employers. "Lack of qualified labor isn't a problem for the future; it's a problem we're facing today," he states. "At this very moment, we're in need of an additional 3,000 employees."

So while the US and Europe and even Asia may still have struggles ahead, there are places in the world that seem to be doing quite nicely, thank you. (Unfortunately, I don't know a lot of Americans who speak Portuguese. But I bet a lot of Brazilians know English. And if not, Portuguese sweet bread (and a job) is reason enough to learn a new language.
