Consider this touchscreen for education:

I'm not talking about touchscreens for traditional TB. I'm talking about touchscreen going into many vertical applications as an interface -- for example, more touchscreens in your appliances, cars, mobile devices, tablets, home systems, e.t.c. If you think about it the paradigm of a touchscreen as an interface was really sparked by the iPad and has caught on. Have you ever seen a 6-year old try to control the TV by touching the screen?

Yes, but I sometimes spend so much time "checking in" with peripheral relationships that I minimize the time I should be giving the people who really matter.

@yalanand, I am not sure quality time reduces, the advantage of mobile connectivity is that I can check these social networks while I am on the go.

@TelecomFreq, true technology does helps us to expand that amount but the bigger concern is maintaining those relationships. We spend hours together talking/chatting with those contacts online, thus quality time spent in home and office reduces.
@Scott, I dont think people will like touch screen TV's because they dont want to getup everytime they want to change the channel. I guess people would be happy to use gesture recognition on TV instead of touch screen TV.
Bargain Bin, there was actually a panel at the show today that noted Gen Y "considers driving the distraction."
Touch screens in cars? I can already see PSA's about the dangers of using your car's touch screen terminal while driving.

Though I know I would never want to sit in on more than one meeting at a time, and I can only keep track of a handful or two of relationships on my own, I think technology helps me to expand that amount. Since online social networks have been developed I find it much easier to keep track of relationships, both personal and business through various sites.
Thoug I still would not want to sit in on more than one meeting at a time, I like to know that I can keep track of my connections online with little to no contact if needed, and they can do the same with me.
