It was so nice when I was a kid and could just believe the voices of authority. Of course they were lying then, too. But ignorance really is bliss.

Yea, I know that. That was an earlier post. This one was about the media and other g roups. Wondered why you were bringing the govt back up because we already talked about that.

Big Jim are we reading the same posts?
Goodman refers to Government entities and manipulation - here's a section from his earlier post.
"There is an entire collection of people in government who are schooled in presenting choices to voters that will have a predictable outcome. One of the best examples is the work of Cass Sunstein who is behind the change on drivers' licenses from opting in to donate organs to instead making us opt out if we don't want to donate. This may be a good thing, but there are many examples that are more covert and biased against the interest of the voter."
My point was and still is - how could anyone be so stupid as to fall for a line like "...saved or created millions of jobs? Whether it comes from a private group or spokespeople representing our government - it's an obvious manipulation.

Fred- it seems that you have validated the connection.

Organ donation was discussed in a book called Nudge, written by noted behavorial finance researcher Robert Thaler with co-author Cass Sunstein, the very same czar of White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs. That's where the connection was made.
Mr. Sunstein also wrote a book called Animal Rights, in which he suggested that animals ought to be able to bring suit, with private citizens acting as their representatives, to ensure that animals are not treated in a way that violates current law.
Mr. Sunstein is on the short list of choices for the Supreme Court the next time there is an opening.
Fred,
Are you trying to run some sort of connection between academics involved in market regulation and organ donation? Fascinating!

Why are you bringing up government data? This post is about data manipulation by non-government groups.

I was astonished at the amount of people who blindly accepted the "created or SAVED two million jobs" claim from the current administration.
