Seems a bit hasty

Google still looks to be in excellent shape, especially considering that no search engine is likely to come near displacing them in the near future. Seems like investors had panic attacks over nothing.

True, and still not terribly expensive trading at 11X next year's earnings with a PEG of .78

Maybe Google should rethink its committment to solar investments and stop tilting at windmills.

Scott from your analysis I don't think google will get in to trouble anytime soon. However they need to continue looking at new and innovative ways to find new business. The move towards the mobile industry looks tricky but most users now do most of their searches on their phone on the go. So they might be on to something.

Good idea on ditching the solar -- they seem to be getting a little overextended. But that's what happens when you have billions to burn.

Scott, but still it seems that Google is in good financial health. But dollar had gained over the other foreign exchange rates and hence it has to be resulted in a positive way for Google.

Google is having a problem many large companies do - when you get really big, how can you find enough revenue growth to satisfy investors. Looking at mobile makes sense since it is still a growth industry. However, the lower margins are a problem.

It seems like the problem is more with expectations than real results. When you get to this size it is hard to maitain the growth rate and nevr face any pricing pressures. Google still has a long way to go in terms of sucking up advertising dollars. I think the outlook is till good- just maybe not as unrealisitic.

Another problem is that they really haven't succeeded in making money in anything other than paid click -- their orginal business model. If you think about it all of their other efforts are to support paid click.

At least after Microsoft made all their money on operating systems they figured out another way to make money -- applications. Google hasn't made any money on applications to date.
