I think the republicans have gotten themselves in a fix. They do not like Romney policies, but do not think Gingrich is electable. Ron Paul is just too far out there and santorum is dead in the water. Not many good choices.

Character is, as pointed out, a subjective term. It also is meaningless when you consider how fake politicians are anyway. Newt has a past with some horrible decisions, but that's not going to be why I don't vote for him.

True enough. As in, "Newt is a real character!"

I was surprised so many people selected character of the candidate. The question, however, is what exactly does that mean? Character is so subjective.

I wasn't surprised that Jobs won, but I was surprised that nobody cared about anything else.
