Dell's Wyse purchase

At today's Wells Fargo Tech Transformation Summit, Brad Anderson, president of Dell's enterprise solutions unit, said what makes Wyse "super attractive" is the back-end opportunity for data services to support the front-end virtualization network. Anderson said for every $1 in virtual desktop revenue, there is $6 of server, storage, networking and datacenter services behind it.

Dell buying Wyse makes strategic sense because it involves the enterprise & cloud segments. Once again, it's a small deal for Dell from a revenue perspective (Wyse had trailing 12-month revenue of $375 million), so it's best to look at it as adding another piece to the enterprise portfolio. The addition of cloud-software talent (Wyse has 140 software engineers) is a plus.

Dell announced this morning that it's buying privately held Wyse Technology to expand its presence in desktop virtualization.

Citi says the deal could bring back takeover chatter on Citrix, which it calls the best way to play the mainstreaming of desktop virtualization.

@Phoenix: A pullback to the 200-day moving average around $68 would be optimal. But not sure we'll get that...watch the March low of $71.24 for support if the stock starts to head lower.

Citrix made an early bet on cloud. That can sometimes be risky but in this case it played out well for them. I think they are an established player in a strong market and should continue to grow well.

It does look like a good stock. They are in the right business and a lot more growth can be expected. I'm a bit worried about a correction. Would it be a good idea to wait and see if a correction occurs and if it does to buy at that time?

Yes PEG is a little high at 1.74 but this is such a strong company definitely one to pick up in a correction.

Hard to buy this chart up here.
