You mean you want to go out to dinner with friends and have everybody talk to the people at the table instead of texting to people who didn't care enough to come along?

Sounds like we are on the way to some good ol' fashioned trust-busting.

I think that people just need to stop using their phone for every miniscule detail. I know people who look up every single thing they don't know, no matter how trivial the matter is. People should put down their phones and just talk. I wish phones would just go back to the way they used to be, where my phone can make calls when I need it to, and nothing more.

Yes, but Verizon is already bribing its customers. Did you read the comments in the WSJ today? Verizon Communications CEO Lowell McAdam told The Wall Street Journal that if the deal closes, it may launch a service by year-end that lets subscribers of Verizon Wireless, FiOS and its cable partners watch some paid content on their smartphones and tablets. Verizon knows how to manipulate the playing field!

yes, because I think we always benefit from competition, and this deal just seems to benefit the carriers.

Consumer advocates are less enthusiastic about this plan because they say it is basically help to promote four major cable companies in exchange for their help in promoting Verizon, leading to low incentives for these competitors to compete with one another, which would potentially lead to higher prices for consumers.

Does anyone see that as significant issue here?

it makes sense for VZW to try and grap as much spectrum as they can before its just too late. The math is pretty simple, the more spectrum they control the more they can outpace other carriers.
