Scott I hope to see the same trend in gold throughout the rest of the year especially as we near elections in the US and a climax in the EU debt issues. My gold is staying where it is fimly in my portfolio.

Scott I have also owned Barrick for many of the reasons you state it is fundamentally a good stock and if you are a believer in the value of gold in the current macro environment it makes absolute sense. In my opinion the gold mining stocks are paying the price for the speculators in the market not because they are not fundamentally good investments. I too believe gold has another sharp rise based on little improvement in the macro environment and I am sitting tight.

I think that over time values will triumph- that should be good for the portfolio. A little patience seems to be in order.

Um, so far I don't like the way the model portfolio is playing out. But it's two months old so I guess I'd better be patient!

The bears won't shut up these days @Scott. They're argument: Gold and gold mining stocks are taking a beating as of late and a comeback is not in the cards. Glad to see you still have faith.
