Wow, Marvin!  What a fabulous idea for CNN!  Ted Turner returns!  It's like what Giuseppe Verdi said of Richard Wagner's operas:  "Torniamo al antico.  Sara un progresso."  (Let us return to the past.  That would be progress.)  And anyone who has seen "Falstaff" would have to agree.

Telecomfreq- it would be interesting to see how CNNs televised content reflects what people are reading and commenting on in online news venues—that may explain the ratings decline. Is the content reflecting what people want to hear about?

@Scott, yes he did!  But don't make the mistake of thinking for one SECOND that any of his remarks...Albanian Army, etc.--were off-the-cuff.

@ProfR, The TV everywhere platform and mobile media will be what drives content for the next decade. CNN is in all the right spaces to make a strong play to be the content leader in the TV anywhere / mobile space. But the big question becomes can CNN put a plan together to develop and migrate to that kind of platform.

TelecomFreq, You are right. TV News needs reinvented for the 3 screen changes going on. I think there is a space for some combination of TV broadcasting, interactive online programing and quick mobile news - CNN could be a leader here.

Sounds to me like they need to bring in some type of controversial or polarizing figure into the newsroom. Draw some interest away from FOX.
