Thats true, the whiskies tend to have a bigger following, but, if you look hard enough you can find a following for any spirit.

I wonder if there are people who invest in spirits like they do with wine,

Some types have more rare bottles and a bigger following, so they would be the most likely.

I don't see why a simialr club for rare bourbons would not work. I have had some pretty interesting ones.

I am more of a Bourbon drinker myself, but I can see where something like this would have a place in a market like NYC.
